The Unofficial Song of the Day Thread

Nice one Nate. Big fan of Massive Attack.

Key Grip on my current gig turned me on to this:

Can't get over it at the moment, lol.

Still on a major ska kick. Love the Toasters. 2-Tone sound with Third Wave attitude. We need a Fourth Wave. I have my homework.

My pick for a 9/11 commemoration music video:

Springsteen in Barcelona, 2003. Very, very moving tribute.

Others?

Getting ready for a show (my first in years!) so my brain is stuck in Scottish folk!

Ray Lamontagne & The Pariah Dogs - Beg, Steal or Borrow

This is the early morning song I wake up to with the 1st cup of coffee. You get into the melody and figure how to go through your day with a good night's sleep at the end. Keep wondering how Neil Young can do a cover version.http://youtu.be/99ymNG7PnW0

I've been avoiding listening to music lately. This was Number 1 in the UK singles chart recently.

Feel free to be the people in the US who liked Nero before they went massive over there. After all this is 'The Year of Dubstep'...

I clicked on the last page of this thread, but I missed my intended target -- the last page of the thread about doing an entire film improvised. I was like, damn, you guys have gone way off-topic.

While I'm here, I might as well join the conversation.

Hold on now, you guys aren't gonna try and take credit for dubstep, are you? The kids at my workplace talk about it, with a sense of nostalgia. :)

I'm not particularly well-versed on dubstep, but I do know that I like this song:

To add to the dubstep discussion, did you know that Skrillex, this guy who's come out of no where to be pretty much the face of dubstep and insanely popular, is the ex singer from the band 'From First To Last', Sonny Moore.

I did not know that, and being something of a fan of FFTL and also being aware of the music of Skrillex, when I was told it was Sonny Moore I was like O_O

This is a From First To Last song, just for reference sake.

I've been listening to the band "Story of the Year" a lot recently.

Specifically these tracks:

"The Ghost of You and I"

and

"The Antidote"

I love spotify. :)

Sound quality sucks on it, though. And I don't wanna pay!!!

Back when Ian Benzie (one of my favorite scots traditional vocalists) was with the Old Blind Dogs.

I can't stop watching/listening to this. It's hilarious!! (warning: while I consider everything fair game in comedy, this video may be offensive to some)

After the 'You make me feel so hung...' song I thought that was going to be properly offensive. Who would that offend? Sanctimonious Disney fans?
