I'm a nerd. Not apologizing. I don't really watch movies on DVD (maybe 5-ish per year). I watch them in the theater. And then I record my grade for them in a spreadsheet. For nothing more than the sake of conversation, thought I might share my current 2010 list. BTW, my FB and real-life friends only ever see my top-20, cuz releasing the entire list reveals the embarrasing amount of time I've spent watching shitty movies. Lots of big movies yet to be seen, and also, it's worth mentioning that in Richmond, VA, we have very few options for indie films (this is a very Hollywood list).

j/k, maybe i should do something similar but i know id never keep up with it.

as for comments abt the list, imho edge of darkness, the expendables, green zone and brooklyns finest deserve higher grades. i wont get into movies which imo deserve lower ones.

u should put up ur list at the end of each year. itd be an interesting tradition :)

Lists like this are purely subjective. This isn't supposed to be any sort of objective grade of how good a film is, but purely a grade of how much I enjoyed watching it.

So, any comments on ones that you, or anybody else, thinks should be higher or lower, are absolutely invited. I'll post 2010 again, at the end of the year, but for now, here's a complete list of 2009:

Omg, Scott does a similar thing with music. He has an exercise book in which is listed every single band he's ever seen live & a tally of how many times. He also has a word table with all the music he buys or downloads. And it's all colour coded and stuff.
I guess he's not the only one. o.O

In regards to your list though, EXCUSE ME! Crank 2 D-? How can anything with Jason Statham in it not be marvellously enjoyable to watch? Mmm, Jason Statham...

EDGE OF DARKNESS and BROOKLYN'S FINEST, I agree. I have no idea why these two would be so lowly graded. Putting FROM PARIS WITH LOVE above EDGE OF DARKNESS? Wow....

Then again, you did like AVATAR.... ;)
 
I may have lost some respect for you because of your grading of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and The Other Guys. A Vendetta has started.

But in all seriousness Dragon Tattoo was stunning, and The Other Guys is one of my new top comedies. Your Social Network was fair but I expected at least A-
 
Yeah I have to say a lot of the movies I liked are not rated well by CF.

I really liked Edge of Darkness, The Crazies, Hot Tube Time Machine. I would have gave The Expendables a B. I would have given Sherlok Holmes a A. Probably give GI Goe a B-.

You forgot a really good movie Law Abiding Citizen.

I just went to the theater this weekend and saw The Town and the WallStreet sequal. The Town was a great movie. Wallstreet was good probably a C+.
