Antihero in SoCal Film Fest

Hey, all you SoCalies!

I ain't too proud to beg. Please, go watch my movie! I think there's a very good chance you'll enjoy the shit out of it.

Regulars on this forum have seen me promote this movie a billion times, but for any new folk, you can check out a trailer, view some stills, and learn a little more about there movie here:

It was given a very good screening-time, on Saturday, Oct. 1st, at 8:20PM. Find more info on the venue, and purchase tickets, here. Also, fear not the fact that it is screening in a library. That theater is legit.

I hope to hear back from those who've made it!

Congats again! :)

Would love to go but... you know... wrong side of the Atlantic and all that.

Maybe some day we can arrange a screening for CF's UK fans. I have the DVD after all :)

Killer time slot, Cracker. I'm going to do everything I can to make it down and make use of my passes. Will try to connect with ZenSteve. :)

That would be great. I'm really glad Zensteve plans to go. Thanks, and cheers.

PTP, if you'd like to screen it at a theater near you, I'd be more than happy to send a higher-res copy than the SD DVD. :)

Hey, ya'll! The SoCal Film Fest has begun. If you live anywhere near, and want to have a fun Saturday night, you need to get your butt to Huntington Beach!

"Antihero" screens at 8:20PM, at the Huntington Beach Public Library and Cultural Center Theatre
7111 Talbert Ave, Huntington Beach, CA 92648

Here, let me google map it for ya!

ZenSteve and I made it to Saturday's screening. Had a good time. Wish there was more of an audience. Sadly, only a handful of people. Enjoyed the film. It had a good amount of hits (the cast was high energy, very natural and comfortable in front of the camera, some fun wordplay and improv, some slick camera dollies, love the montage sequences!), a few misses (kinda dragged in the middle section, camera work and lighting was uneven throughout, at times there was a really well-lit shot then bam - a fuzzy, overlit shot, script might have been tighter with another draft or two), but it's great to see an indie filmmaker swinging for the cheap seats and putting a dream on the silver screen. Good for you Cracker! Congrats on another festival screening. :)

How the hell did you get that shot in the theater?? VERY cool.

I'm trying to post a few pics but my internet connection where I am at the moment is spotty.

Cheers!

Thanks, Jeff!

To answer your question -- PVC pipes (track), duct-taped to 2*4's, placed on top of theater seats. Very long 1*2 duct-taped to base of dolly, to be used as a very long extension of my arms. :D

Brian Gartland (Pork Rind) and Nicole Carter (Lainee) were both chosen as finalists, for the awards of Best Actor & Best Actress, respectively.

No problem, man! I can see why those two got a nod. I also really liked the Weezie actor. Nicole was totally like Amanda Plummer out of Pulp Fiction. No surprise with the reference. ;) Would love to see them in another ensemble piece. Cheers.

The next feature is being written for Joe Carlson (Weezie) and Brian as the leads, and I see no foreseeable reason why either of them would turn down their role. Next time, though, Joe will be the protag, and Brian will be the sidekick. So, Joe will have a little more screen-time, but it's a Road Trip Movie, so they'll both pretty much just be co-leads. They work incredibly well together, and I'd be an idiot not to take advantage of a known commodity (their chemistry, both on-screen, and on the set). :D
