    Apurture amaraon 528 LED lights

I've used smaller LED units and not had flicker problems but then again they were so small I was running fairly slow shutter speeds. The main issue with lights like these is the poor quality of light. Unfortunately this is most evident on skin tones, particular darker skins. What annoys me...

    LED lighting experience...

LED lights are generally cheap and convenient BUT, like cheap fluorescents, most lack a full balance of light frequencies or a full back spectrum (an issue which also crops up with aquarium and horticultural lighting). End result, oddly coloured and grey looking skin tones. You cannot correct...

    H4n Zoom/Canon 60D Hookup

What you are suggesting requires a mixer, the zoom is a recorder. Some mixers have outputs specifically designed to go into DSLRs and other consumer equipment on mini-jacks, keep an eye out when choosing one. Might be wrong but an attenuated tape out might be usable. To allow freedom you could...

    Shooting at Night

If you don't have the money you'll have to make up by putting in the effort to day for night. Either that or live with the noise. At most you can use a small handheld battery powered LED light with a blue gel just to pick out your subject and lift them from the gloom. I'd shoot with the...

Visual & Audio Setup for On-Location in a Pub

You are in for quite a challenge audio wise. The go-pros have a wide field of view and covering all that area is gonna mean a lot of mics. Or is your doc solely about the staff and their interactions ?(I can't really see punters being happy about having mics listen in) then you can just mic...

    Canon T3i - Audio Dilemma

Not quite on topic but may open up some possibilities for the OP, but I don't totally the audio circuits on these DSLRs are totally useless. I have heard far worse, and of course, far better. Once you move away from the inbuilt mic things change very drastically. As naughty as it may be I have...

    Audio question

If the mic is phantom powered you'd probably need to be looking at extra battery packs or ways toextend battery life. Dies off quick when powering mics

Sound only appears in left channel

you using balanced input? Due to the connector you can only get one balanced input into the cam with ML and it only appears on one channel. There is no adaptor or way around this if in balanced input. If you are using the input as a standard stereo input you could run an adaptor but at the...

    iPhone to record sound

there are iphone audio interfaces that take a balanced mic input. You will probably need a phantom power module too. Big drawback is that all such interfaces need power but probably from a wall wart so an electrician might be able to make a transformer you can run off NP1s or other batteries.

    I NEED HELP WITH SOUND!!!

The Zooms are hissy and you are compounding the problem with using a self powered mic. The headphone amp is pretty low grade and underpowered too. You could be hearing hiss from the headphone amp is it any better listening to the files through a GOOD audio system?? Though to be honest though if...

    Unable to install Magic Lantern

+1 what Craig Said, computers often see the camera in a different way to card readers, they behave somewhat differently depending on how you access them. If you are on a PC try right clicking and 'exlore' rather than just clicking on the icon if you do not have access to an SD reader

    Sound on the Cheap

You're not gonna get usable audio for less than $100 unless you find someone to lend you the gear, even rental will be pushing it but possible. You can live with one mic if you get the dialogue from each person, one by one in the close ups and cut what ever shot you want underneath it. Don't...

    Interview Sound in a shop

clip on mic. quick, easy to set up and not as distracting as a shotty hanging overhead. If you going straight to DSLR I hope you have a model or solution that turns off the auto gain.
