I've used smaller LED units and not had flicker problems but then again they were so small I was running fairly slow shutter speeds.
The main issue with lights like these is the poor quality of light. Unfortunately this is most evident on skin tones, particular darker skins. What annoys me plenty of mid level LED lighting can be just as bad despite the extra cost. Only at the top end does this problem really get sorted.
Build quality is quite poor and I can't see them lasting all that long.
If you gonna buy cheap lights, might as well get the very cheapest though.
