Audio gear...

So out of curiosity, what audio gear do you own? I have a typical Indie setup in that:

- Fostex FR2-le
- ECM 674
- Promix 3
- Boom, shockmount, zeppelin with dead kitty

For me, this is the minimum boomed level which I believe produces decent sound. As a note, I am Mr Ebay and the Fostex, Promix and ECM cost a total of $300 USD.

Backup is a Tascam DR-100 and naturally I have more XLRs than an XLR factor in China.

I also borrow an NTG-2 and occasionally get my hands on a Sennheiser 416 and for live, acoustic audio recording, I have a specific setup which I borrow from a sound engineer.

Tascam DR-100mkII - Portable Recorder = $225.

Zoom H1 = $80.

Rode NTG-2 Microphone = $270.

Rode Shotgun Videomic x2 = $150 each.

Rode Blimp Wind Shield = $300.

Rode 3m Boompole = $149.

+ two deadcats for the videomic's, some cables and a microphone stand.

I just bought a used Behringer C1 Microphone for $32.

Very nice kit. Do you put a mixer between the mic and the recorder?

Thanks. No I don't. I just picked up the base gear and I'll slowly work up from there. Next lavs and then probably a mixer. I'm just getting started. What's weird, I'm not really aiming at being a PSM though it's fairly easy to get jobs as the PSM locally.
