Tik that's short enough ta Tok

TikTok seems to be where all the eyeballs are at these days.

So I wrote something sexy and short enough for tiktok.

One half of a page! It's very... "spy vs spy"

I wasn't really taking this project that seriously and I don't think short films are ever going to make me any money or anything like that.
But I do get obsessive about editing, just bc it gives me something to do i guess. feels like im being productive.

I got the tiktok version down to 23 seconds so far.. that article said the film maker was aiming for 16 seconds.
IDK though when i take out the whole guy rolling over in the bed, the story doesn't feel as good. i like 23 seconds for today.

We'll see what tomorrow brings :)

this may be the release version for tiktok.
I took music out of the beginning, it distraced from the quiteness and trying not to make noise having all that music playing.

What do you think?

Yeah works better. I don't think you need that sunrise light on the wall thing shot (sorry not sure what that is, but also you don't need it). Birds chirping and bright light say it all. The only other thing is, the fire still looks fake, but it's because the shot is too long and we stare at it and begin to analyze it. That could be super short but the boom sound could carry though to the next shot and dissolve with the sound effect to the car, so that shot could actually be longer. Or you know what, maybe the picture could dissolve too so it hides some of the fakeness, so BOOM! Fire and immediately start dissolving to next shot. Hmm I think that may be it. We see some of the hard drive through the flames, which is also suggestive. Then, we see her in the car. Hope you don't mind comments at this stage.

Its a red nightlight that automatically turns itself off when the room is lit.

It's not too late for comments, hasn't released yet. and shorter is usally better.
I can experiment with cutting down those two scenes, the nightlight and the fire.

I think a slow dissolve from the explosion to the car shot would really work. You might need to cut out the sound effect (of the shot at the car beginning) but I think it would add drama, discovery, and also help hide the fakeness of the fire if you start the dissolve right away.

This is something i've definitely played around with but i'm gonna take a second look, i think i do have a little too much fire.
I wanted to give people a moment to absorb what happened, at least a moment before i start the dissolve

We don't need to absorb it. It's pretty much a jump scare, it's already cemented at the boom. I think a slow dissolve would be cool because we'd be like "what is that we are seeing?" as the hard drive comes into picture as well as, it camouflages the flames for realism.

Actually coming back to comment, I just realized the flames did not stick out as fake on that one, so win! I wasn't even thinking about them. The short shot definitely fixes that.

What a frustrating morning, it was literally impossible to get a video from my phone to tiktok.
Iphone such a piece of fucking shit.

Plug it into my computer, the media folder is read only.
Go into folder app on iphone directly, does not show media folder at all.
Download media to root of iphone, not available for upload to tiktok since it isnt in read-only media folder

Just what the fuck.
Go to tiktok.com and upload from my desktop after being extremely frustrated all morning...
At least the website is better than instagram, which won't let you upload from desktop at all for some god forsaken reason.

And guess what?? On tiktok my account is unsearchable, its like i dont even exist, nobody can find me even if you specifically look for me and already know about me.

Tried to delete account and create a new one, it won't let me.
Jesus christ why is this so complicated and difficult

Did you try creating a new email address & using that to create a new Tik Tok account?
I did that when I got locked out of Twitter.
Yeah finally after all morning I got a video on tiktok, what an accomplishment!! (lol)

People didn't like it, it showed the video to 11 people and then stopped bc nobody liked the video.

I think it needs some kind of music in the beginning tho, after all tiktok is a music app.
And isn't the point of the app to rip off other famous sounds i don't have the rights too?

You need the help of a 12 year old đŸ˜›

Yeah I don't think I'm doing it right.
I scratched my noggin, ready for another round of tik tokkin

What do you think of this version? LOL I fucking love it.
Apologies to Warner W.F. who did the original sound track.

Not sure how it works (not on there), but Instagram Reels are their answer to TikTok, and if you sign up as a creator, when you make a reel you have access to tons of popular music, legally. They let you score your video and you choose the song you want, and use the slider to edit it where you want it in the song. They are also portrait mode vids.
