A follow-up for anyone that was reading this thread, we looked into it and dall-e is super lame for story telling.
They don't even allowed PG content! Forget PG-13, it is G for general audiences only.
The Saddest Painter is a script about a string of suicides and Dall-E TOS explicitly forbids any images depiciting self harm.
After that I pulled the plug, because i feel like the whole spirit of this project was to have an AI create the art and that's not possible with Dall-E restrictions.
It's possible to compsite and "work around" the TOS, but then what are people even watching really?
I don't want to release a short film about suicides, claiming an AI created suicide art when everybody knows that Dall-E doesn't do that...
So I did a little research and there *is* and AI to Text tool without restrictions, (.e.g violence, nudity, celebrities, etc) but it's not quite as good.
The main problem with it, is that the art just isn't that interesting to look at via dreamstudio. i don't think it would be visually engaging enough.
I tried a bunch, but try as I might, it wouldn't put chris hemsworth in a dress for me

For Shawn: the searches you requested are mixed in here, it didn't do too well with the "christmas in hell" paintings. You can see the search prompt used by looking at the file name for any image.
For IT: I tried a few more general use album covers
In general: just posting some random outputs for people interested in seeing how Dall E works out in practice. TLDR, some turn out great, most turn out unusable. I think it is the beginning of the end for static image artists though, since even if only 1 in 1000 images turns out perfect, it's still way cheaper than having an image hand drawn.

Wow Dall-E is like 10x better than dreamstudio
I tried those same prompts and they were complete garbage outputs for me
I'm not surprised Dall-e has problems with hell though, since it has a G rating.
What a shame the people running it are such squares.

you've never seen Joel Haver? He's one of the most popular short creators on YT. He got famous doing video game skits with EB synth.

I tried watched a few videos.. I didn't like anything that I saw
even that dall-e one had bad editing.. like the ice dragon shows up and the pacing of the edits didn't increase at all during the action scene. i didn't like it.

Amazing Images! Thank you for the share. You reminded my that I use an AI illustrator on Discord and I created a poster image for a new screen play working title "The Aldous Reality"Day 2. gradually triangulating towards more useful results. Right now, I feel like this thing makes fantastic thumbnail sized images, but starts to fall apart at larger sizes. Still a lot to learn, and it's definitely not set up for my uses out of the box, meaning that there might be some problems getting access to the controls. I might have to end up using a lesser open code solution, since I have a very particular use case. I wouldn't want to be a digital painter right now though. It will only be a few years now before painting for money is a thing of the past.
