Super Summer Contest!

Last call for stories!

You've got until some point tomorrow (UK time) when I put everything I've received online. I've got a doctor's appointment during the day which may play into the hands of those who want to submit.

I've had a bunch of submissions this evening, you Americans love doing things at the 11th Hour, don't you? ;)

Anyhow if there's anyone else or anyone fancies writing another then just send 'em in. Otherwise a thread for critiquing and voting will go live tomorrow!

Thanks to everyone who's submitted so far. I've resisted the temptation to read any of them so I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone came up with. There seems to be a wide variety in terms of structure at least!

Us americans do like doing things in the eleventh hour, thank you very much.

Just like when we jumped over the pond to save you back in the 40s.

:)

Three more low budget shorts outlined coming your way.

Only meat wallets prudently plan ahead.
Anyone with real stones can pull one off at the last gasping second. ;)

Doesn't the rest of the world kinda (politely) mock us Yanks for our manic, crack rat work style? (Can't really call it an "ethic")

Ok guys, lots of fun entries coming in!

Anyone considering entering has until 6:00 pm GMT (which is when I get back from the doctor) at that point I am going to create a thread with all the submissions I have received!

Thanks a lot to everyone who's submitted thus far!

Can we still submit a concept?
Could I write a screenplay short off of it?

I've been turned in about eight or nine ten sentence stories that
- begin with a situation,
- introduce a conflict,
- suggest a few problems to solve before
- things go bad,
- it gets better,
- it gets worse,
- solve the big problem, then
- define the outcome.

Phase 2 screenwriters are free to change names, tweak problems and solutions, completely fabricate all dialog based upon the tone (humor, dark humor, drama, horror, farce) they want to approach this with.

I wouldn't care for something as conceptually nebulous as "Humor - Dude eats chili, wakes up with squirts, can't answer the phone".
I'd appreciate a little more pre-development than that.

No of course not, nothingas minimal as that. What is the range of script and screen time we're looking at?

There really wasn't any, just "short".
There's production costs and time associated with these, so... shorter = better.

IMHO, I think the sweet spot is two to four minutes and over ten is really pushing it.

OMG.
Ok just put something in solidity, who am I sending this to?
Print it.
Tri-fold it.
Insert into envelope
Include $20 cash (no coins please) for S&H
email to the address on the OP.

Are you "punking" us?
You are, aren't you.
You silly wanker, you! :P

Bravo, Chris!

Sent & Done! That was close!
Bravo on you, too, Jake.

Yeah, man. Just barely missed that asteroid by... hours.

Sh!t.

In cosmological terms that was a near death experience!

My palms are all cold and sweaty.

No, wait...

That's just condensation off my glass of coke and ice.
Never mind.

:D
