Jane Wick JR

I am now in preproduction on my action movie that is shockingly reminiscent of 2004's The Punisher.
Loved the editing in that movie. John travolta not so much.

I am all by myself planning and executing this lol. Filming starts december 12th.
Movie effects that i haven't done before:

Shooting someones head off with a shotgun.
Shooting a row of 10 aluminum cans with two pistols.
Shooting walls full of bullet holes and debris
Hand to hand fight with pencil stabbing (I hear john wick killed three guys with a pencil.. a fucking pencil!!)
Shooting a car full of bullet holes and blowing the windows out
Fake 3D bullet casings when the guns fire
Buy better prop guns that use co2 cartridges - there aren't any with fake casing ejection i can buy are there?
Get some kind of double barrel shotgun prop
Build a blood cannon for shotgun blasts
-------

My initial thoughts are...
For bullet holes my 2 choices are either create them entirely in post and apply tracking
or to create them IRL and then to cover them in post production until such time as i want them to appear

for shutgun head blast maybe I have to put a blue bag over someones head and then key out their head for a headless corpse ?

Its always hard for people to accept change, sometimes even ourselves in regards to the reactions we get from it.

Just do what you do, and screw the rest.

Change is not what concerns me. I would like to be treated with a modicum of respect.

Well, either way... Don't let the world bring you down. Others already bring themselves down enough anyway, especially during hard times. Take a break if you need, but keep on keeping on. You seemed pretty excited with this project. Sorry its not working out the way you envisioned.

Yeah I thought I would have the energy to tackle all the sewing stuff on that deadline, but it was stressful and overwhelming for me because its so out of my element.

I have also barely eaten in a month and I feel very tired all the time and that may have played a role.

Glass half full. It is not delayed. You are adding more time to get it right. It's all about perspective.
We are going City of God on this bitch!!!!

For those of you that don't know the cast/crew of city of god were invited to make a short film for TV before they made their movie.
The cinematographer swears that if it werent for the practice of film/acting/makeup/prop experimenting with a short first that the film would not have been the success that it was.

We are keeping the film dates, gonna have the kid come over and do a dry run of camera and acting :)

Check out it the first original costume I've sewn!
She looks so awesome in it. I was up til 4am last night working on the gloves.

Shot all the cans with real guns - omg I am rusty it took 5 clips to hit 9 cans LOL
I could have shot slower and aimed more buttttt it was fun.

And then 30 minutes AFTER the real guns were put away I had the kid show up and we filmed her scenes and gave her fake guns.
The ball is finally rolling. Next stop april 11th.

Great costume! Glad you're working on this. We were all hoping you'd get back to it!

Thanks! I appreciate that. I really think she looks great in it.

EDITED: Adding still from yesterdays footage.

It would have been an epic fail if I couldn't get this project rolling.
There was remarkably little interest from actors to be a part of this project, I think it's due to covid.

I appreciate that Mara, I'm feeling really good about how it's all coming together.
I bought a couple of assets and made this title sequence.

Working on the sound design right now for the final gun fight and it's way more difficult than I anticipated.
My first swing at it was like listening to a construction project hammering away just wham wham wham wham so frustrating to hear lol.

This is going to take some time to get right :)

Gunfight is sounding great now! Filmed her flashback sequence on tuesday, where she returns to her house after the murders

and I solved a huge problem.. I wanted to show her house completely empty and fixed up months later... but still have a hidden safe somehow that nobody knows about. Can't do the typical behind a painting thing since the walls are all blank and sad. no furniture nothing. So where to hide it? How do you hide a safe in a empty place like that....

pull the entire bathroom mirror cabinet out of the wall and there is a hidden safe behind that bathroom mirror!
