favorite What is your favorite buddy film...

Some great choices. I would have never classified "The Station Agent" as a
buddy film - but it sure is.

My favorite has got to be Silver Streak
Drama: Dog Day Afternoon
Action: Point Break
Western: C'mon, there's the one and only...

oh yeah another great one

There's no rules but for me it's 2 people that are not in a relationship (buddies) that go on some sort of journey, mission, road trip, adventure, etc.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

And a few come mind, probably not all time favorites, but memorable and certainly re-watchable:
The In-Laws, with Alan Arkin and Peter Falk, and Midnight Run, with Charles Gordon and DiNero.

Edit: And of course, while we're at it, The Sting. And one more: Wallace and Gromit?

"Serpentine, Sheldon! Serpentine!"
Yup, lol. That "serpentine" bit made me laugh, and chuckle again, now, just thinking of it--some great comic directing from Arthur Hiller, and acting from Falk and from Arkin, one of the premier actors of his generation.

(Listened to an audio book bio by Arkin, and was a little surprised that he was kind of a nut. And also, i guess, he did make some crappy movies. But whatever, he gets a lifetime pass, for me, for having been Yossarian. (Help the Bombardier. I'm the Bonbardier.)
