Technically, none of us creatives are "normal". I used to work for a lot of large corporations, and I would encounter groups of thousands of people where no one had come up with an original idea in 50 years. If you are creative, imaginative, or genuinely original, you are not the norm.

I worked for Firestone once, and there was a marketing meeting, with 7 or 8 guys in a room, talking about how to sell tires that year. One guy was pushing selling the idea that tires could be used in the rain, and another was pitching a campaign where they talked about how tough and rugged tires were. A room full of people literally trying to reinvent the wheel by telling people that this year, you could take one outside.
