i'm shooting a music video on the 25th and i rented a canon 5d for it. i want to use a shouldermount to stabilize. anyone know of any inexpensive one? perferably ones that would work with the t2i as well

Unfortunately the answer is that inexpensive DSLR rigs don't really exist. They all cost a fortune. You're probably better off renting that as well.

Inexpensive as in $400 or $500, or inexpensive as in $150? The lattter doesn't really exist.

I have one, and whilst I'm not claiming its anywhere near the standard of the £500 ones, which I have also used, it's much better than going hand held and definitely worth getting if you can't afford the more expensive ones.

hum.. Id recommend skipping the shoulder mount and get a zacuato or letus hawk LCD loupe. That third point of contact does WONDERS for stability. A mono pod might also be good.

practice practice practice... its takes practice to do handheld. Also, plan on ONLY wide lenses. If your using electronic, turn on Image Stabilization.
hey dude have you checked out the cowboy studios shoulder support only about 35 or so bucks eh.
I've seen some riflestock type stabilizers on eBay for under $50, haven't used them.
I've used the Pro-Aim ones and Redrock. Obviously redrock was better, but that's not to say the Pro-Aim was terrible. The fittings get a little loose on it after a lot of use, but it does the job.

I'm in the middle of building a shoulder mount from wood that's going to be less than $30, pimped. Will have post with pics in a few days.

I like that, ^^ this is where the short focus throw of the auto lenses could be a benefit!
