This isn't film related necessarily, but I think it's in the same spirit. My aunt is the Executive Director of an awesome community theatre group in the suburbs called Curtain Call Community Theatre (http://ccctheatre.com/).

Basically, they are in a contest sponsored by Chase, competing with other non-profits for votes on facebook. The 100 non-profits with the most votes would each win $25,000, which is a huge amount of money for this group and could go a long way. As of last night they were #159, so every vote counts.

The contest ends on November 22nd and those of you with facebook can help out now by following this link: https://apps.facebook.com/chasecomm...curtain-call-community-theatre?src=vote_share to vote. You'll need to 'like' Chase Community Giving' and 'Curtain Call Community Theatre' to vote, but you can always unsubscribe/remove the app after they give out the awards. :)

More information about Curtain Call or the Chase Community Giving project here: http://ccctheatre.com/

Thanks!! :D

Done.

Thanks for your votes! Curtain Call was in the top 100 (#82) as of 2 hours before the voting closed today. (All those in the top 100 get $25,000!!!)

We won't know the official standings until tomorrow but it looks like we might have done it!

Thanks again to all of you who voted!

We neeeeed your help. We're throwing our own hat in the ring.

We've entered a competition to create a music video for the band 'We Are The In Crowd'. The competition runs on Youtube views and we're just three days from the announcement of the finalists.

The top video is currently on 1500, so we've got some catching up to do.

We'd really appreciate if you could take the time to check it out and pass it on if you can. Facebook, Twitter, dropping your friends an email. Whatever you can do.

The theme is 'How To Become A Super Hero In 24 Hours'.

When comic book and marvel custodian Benton prepares to take his first reluctant step into a world of full time employment and overdue rent, he stumbles upon a mythological book that will see the dreams of his childhood come to life.

Cheers,
Daniel

We're in the FINAL DAY before the finalists are announced. We've surpassed our 1500 target. A huge thank you to everyone who viewed/shared.

One last big push and we're there. Let's get to 2000!

NEW CAMPAIGN ADDED.

Here's the first new campaign of 2012.

A really honest pitch from new Indietalk member Klopek.

Title: Vessel
Genre: Sci-Fi

http://igg.me/p/61451?a=178369

Synopsis.

Ash has the power to communicate with ET's, a gift he needs to be stripped of by the end of the day or risk succumbing to its side-effects completely. This power is beginning to make him one of them - incredibly calculating, but devoid of any human emotion. He gains valuable time by ingesting prescribed sleeping inhalers which keep the symptoms at bay, but are quickly losing their effect as he grows more and more tired. In turn, he downs sachets of coffee to offset the inhalers, while trawling through the city meeting old acquaintances. It's through these human connections that he collects the pieces of the past that keep his emotional muscle working (a photo, a song, a piece of jewellery). By the end of the day his hope is to find a former interfacer like himself, rumoured to live in the city and that has rid herself of the gift permanently.

Let's get to sharing!
