Copying Tarantino

As we know Reservoir Dogs played around with the normal structure of a movie. Pulp Fiction did this even more intricately. My question is this - would copying the structure of a Tarantino film be considered lazy, even though the majority of movies use the traditional structure and are essentially copying one another's structure anyway?

He is not the first to tell a story from different points of view
in different time frames. He copied from other movies. He
wasn't considered lazy - he made is entire career out of it.
So much so that many people think he was the first writer
to play around with traditional structure.
