Any books on shooting with DSLRs?

I went to the bookstore and checked out a couple of books they had which were recommended to me on here, but the technology (more on cameras and editing, then sound), are out of date. Any books that talk about how to shoot and edit with DSLRs specifically? It's just DSLRs seem to have a lot of workarounds and could use some tips. I couldn't find any books on DSLR shooting and cinematography. Thanks.

Most of the skills needed for DSLR videography are the same skills used in all photography. Learning the relationship between apeture and depth of field (and since we dealing with a manditory shutter speed), the use of ND filters to correct exposure, composition, and above all, lighting are skills needed to convey what a photographer (or cinematographer) uses to take the image from their head and capture it with the camera. Frankly, 90% of the content of books published on photography 50 years ago are just as applicable today as they were when first published. Now, if you're looking for specifics about how to access these tools in your particular camera, that easy, RTFM.

Okay thanks. I thought DSLRs might have a different format for computers since the DV cassette is out now. Do any of those books talk about how some movies make their picture look a certain way? Not the lighting, but more specifically how some movies like say Die Another Day has a picture that is super bright and colorful as oppose to say The Bourne Ultimatum, which is more murky looking. Different picture looks like that.

The color of a film is decided in production design and color grading more than it is camera settings.

The guy that wrote "From Still to Motion" is a full time grader and has a book about it too I think.

I have 'From Still to Motion'.

What I would say is that it's designed for people who have a full understanding of stills photography and are looking to move into video, it's not a beginners guide to DSLRs.
