Adobe after effects test

I recently made this in Adobe Ae. i was testing partical trapcode. please tell me what you think. its pretty basic with no sound.

I dont have any experience with AE.

Maybe if u tell me what partical trapcode is...

If you were going for shiny lights across the screen, well they look good.

:D

PS

dont worry, there are a lot of ppl here who use and are good at AE. someone will chime in.

Aside from a split second (at the beginning), one can't read the word at all... nor enough letters strung together to follow a word.

You can get some drag & drop examples from AE that you can experiment with.

Both look good to me. Depending on the intent, I've found that the logo should show slightly even when there's not any of the back lighting coming through it... unless it's being used as a reveal, the words need to be clear enough for the audience to make out at some point. You have that at the beginning, but perhaps at the end would leave the title in your audiences mind at the end. The alternative I could see is using the lighting as a transition to an opening shot with the same effect applied that backs off a bit, visually linking the title and shot through the lighting flares.

adding a layer above with the colored title and dropping the opacity would show it just enough for the audience to hold onto if you agree with my previous assessment. As far as the effect itself, I like it.

Thanks everyone. It was my first attempts using AE. I did like 4 hours of tweaking to it and i still feel it could be better. Im learning and AE is MIND BOGGLING!!! WheatGrinder, Im not sure which particular I use. I think shine but im not sure. Im going to keep tinkering and maybe i can get it right.

check out see this videocopiolt tutorial

http://videocopilot.net/tutorials/green_smoke/

They have great stuff there.. its a must

The smoke is just videos of smoke. Treated like particles.. the clips are from videocopilot.net Action Essentials 2.

in short, I used the "trapcode particular" plugin for the smoke. The particle emitter is moving across the screen (key frames).. the little particles that follow are the same, the only difference is the particle used. For the little sparks I use spheres, but for the "smoke" I use a short video clip of a wisp of smoke for each particle texture. I think its MORE obvious in the first clip I posted.. The particles are huge and there are only a few of them, so it works. Run that video copilot tutorial. Even if you dont have the two clips they use, try finding another free clip or something.. I tried it with other video clips, fire for example.. , does trippy stuff..

I actually have Action Movie Essentials 2. I have been tinkering around with it but haven't figured out how to blend the clip with the actual video. WheatGrinder, Im going to challenge myself to replicate your intro video (if you don't mind). Im waiting on my video gear to get to me so im going to use this time to build up my AE skills. I've found youtube tutorials extremely helpful.

That was a fun tut to do. Doing those tuts has become more addictive than a video game!

and just for fun, I redid my logo again, this time new color and for me,wheatgrinder..

Ok... so using fire didn't turn out well. In fact it was a disaster. Im not sure what version the guy in the tutorial was using but my version doesn't have the Sprite option under particultar type. I tried using particular type> custom> custom layer> Action essential effect i was using. but that didnt work either.

So I got bored and frustrated and made this video with Red Giant ToonIt
