    watch just won audience award

That was pretty cool, and unexpected. The audio being too low could in fact be a sign that your audio guy was doing it right, and that the theater turned down their speakers as protection against poor mixing. You'd have to ask if the system was set to Dolby level 7 (what all theaters should be...

    Diffusion Reminder

Jerry-rig your diffusion between lens and sensor for digital, unless you have a slanting matte box http://www.fdtimes.com/2013/04/03/arri-alexa-internal-filter-module/ Coincident use of quality NDs in front of the lens doesn't seem to be a big issue, as the black absorbs reflection

Film school or start filming feature?

Ugh. Unnecessary flip response. I leave it up unchanged as an example of bad form. Its best to find the truth in what the other is saying. PSU, 4 years main campus, full academic scholarship, summa cl. I could teach my teachers. My education occurred outside of the classroom while making...

Film school or start filming feature?

Don't listen to the rude guy above. Take it from someone who did the film school thing; it's not worth it. It is most likely that your first two features (and perhaps many more) will be bad (less rude). But oh, you will learn. A lot more than film school.

Film school or start filming feature?

Just want to drop in to say, shoot the feature for as little money as possible (less than 10k). It probably won't be good, but it will be your film school. You will learn a lot more from this than film school. Then make your second film. This one may be good!

    I believe in 48 FPS

48 is a great speed, for virtual reality films (a required minimum)

    Questions On Getting Into Filmmaking

Quite a cut above EOS-M, you might consider a used GH2, to 'hack' it: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/801150636-USE/panasonic_dmc_gh2k_lumix_dmc_gh2_mirrorless_micro.html The best ultrawide (though its heavy for steadycam..)...

    Questions On Getting Into Filmmaking

That team is one of the singular examples of majority wide shooting today. Another example is King's Speech. This is a more rarely used look, and requires focus on what your set will be (as its mostly in focus and easy to take in). One thing, wide is very fun to shoot, and gives the appearance...

    Questions On Getting Into Filmmaking

Gopros are an interesting case, a camera for a very particular purpose - first person footage. For traditional movies, pick up a used EOS-M (~260 with kit lens)... the core image system there has been used in many a film that has gone to theaters. Then just go to town making your own movies...

Question about color grading in Premiere Pro.

Also, fwiw, consider shooting at f2.8-4 when using S35 (like t2i), to cast low budget sets out of attention. [replace that kit lens with a prime or two ~30-50mm]

Question about color grading in Premiere Pro.

You are referring to CMYK color in Photoshop in the original post. This is a subtractive color space with a reduced gamut for printing. RGB space is what you are looking for in the video world, with additive color for screens. You are actually achieving CMY via RGB - Cyan sans Red, Magenta sans...

    Is this scene too dark?

Mmm. Good storytelling is like the flow of waves - A thing is only known (or felt) by its contrast

    Is this scene too dark?

Sci-fi? Well, its conflict driven writing, and so it moves. I like how you don't pull your punches here. But there is a balance to everything (i.e. one doesn't want every scene to be a new opportunity to shock to the maximum, feels contrived)

    Do lens converters degrade quality?

Yes; but in your case you need a lens adapter; small Nikon to Canon ring (no image degradation) Nikon lens collection is the most fortunate to have.. Fwiw, look into EOS-M, identical image to t2i Top quality? - go BMPCC

    ME66 vs. NTG1/2

NTG-2 is the best deal. ME66 is very bad.. keep in mind, all these are outdoor mics. Hypercardioid for inside

Premiere CC won't open with Intel hd4000?

Fyi: that is how you update the video driver on a Mac, as the update must be prepped by Apple to conform to their proprietary EFI.. Sound like you've found your solution. Best of luck.
