    Is Inception underrated?

Since we're weighing in on Nolan, I'd say aside from his Batman stuff, Memento and Insomnia are his best. If we count his Batman stuff, The Dark Knight is by far the best (for me, of course). Inception ranks in there somewhere. I'd say it's better than The Dark Knight Rises and Batman Begins...

    Color Symbolism in Screenplay

I love that idea for the villains. Interesting take on the color green, as it usually means other things. But I agree. Green is also the color of lasers for the Empire in the Original Star Wars trilogy, and they do seem very threatening and very fitting for the villains. I'm going for colors...

watch Happy - A short film

I too really adored the long shots as I always have. The film felt very seamless. Almost as if you did it in one long take. I connected with the brother character, and I love the "my brother is dead" line. The dialog felt natural from the brother and fitting for the killer. Nice job. I like it. :)

    Color Symbolism in Screenplay

I am currently writing a short film that employs a heavy plot twist in a very Sixth Sense/Shutter Island type way. Part of my script is using color symbolism, particularly the colors red and white. I have noticed before in film and literature that color symbolism often serves a purpose, and I...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

I have not seen Meet John Doe. If it's anything like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, then I have to check it out!

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington: 10/10 I might venture to say that this is the best film Frank Capra ever made. To me, it surpasses It's a Wonderful Life. Great storytelling with an excellent performance by James Stewart. Jean Arthur was also really great. Her cynicism yet gentleness for Mr...

    Best film by decade

Funny that you mention it, I originally had the Dark Knight listed as well. I feel like because of its mass attention from the general public, it's been neglected amongst some of the more "elitist" circles. I'm still not sure how Slumdog Millionaire won for Best Picture that year. I have...

    Best film by decade

Oh, absolutely. There have been dozens of great films made in the past 14 years, it's just that I think that they best of those decades aren't as good as the ones that precede it. Children of Men and and American Beauty are both great films. I would say that American Beauty is probably my...

    Best film by decade

Film historians have been bickering for decades over which film is the "best ever." General consensus has swung in the direction of films like Gone With the Wind, Casablanca, Citizen Kane, and most recently, Alfred Hitchcock's Vertigo. I thought I would compose a list of my own, and see what the...

    Star Wars Episode VII

Very, very cool that he's shooting at Pinewood considering that was where they shot the first. Not the same sets of course, but it's something that makes a Star Wars fan like myself giddy. :) Also, I had heard that they were considering shooting in Tunisia, also like the original. Perhaps they...

    Twist Endings

I concur that Planet of the Apes also fits the criteria I listed before. It's an excellent film from start to finish, and perhaps contains the best twist ending in a Science Fiction film (keeping The Empire Strikes Back in mind). :D

    Twist Endings

I personally love twists, but I sometimes feel that the film serves the twist instead of the twist serving the film. For instance, Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island is all leading up to the final twist ending. The same can be said for most of M. Night Shyamalan's work. Or even films like Secret...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

Chinatown Probably Jack Nicholson's (and Roman Polanski's) best film. Maybe the best of the 70s (competing with The Godfather and Star Wars for the title). Rating: 9.6/10 The Empire Strikes Back To this day, the best Star Wars film ever made. In my opinion, the best Science Fiction film...

movies What's the last film you watched? And rate it!

I'd say that's the case with most novel to movie adaptations, especially with King. --- Catwoman (starring Halle Berry) is possibly the worst "superhero" film ever to be produced. Although it has a laugh factor much larger than others like Batman & Robin, it's still--without a doubt--the...

A deranged clown wreaked havoc on a city eight years ago, but now, he's gone and to never be mentioned again, regardless of the fact that he's still among the living. Oh wait, I just saw that movie. :D

I love that film! In all actuality, I would have never started watching Dexter had it not been for this film. It was what introduced me into the idea, and I've loved it ever since. And I've always wanted to see Dane Cook murdered as well! I've always thought he was a poor comedian.

    Getting actors?

That is something I really want to do. I've have heard before that VCU has a nice theater dep., but I eventually decided to wait until AFTER I graduated to do that. Because I wouldn't want my parents to come with me and I wouldn't want them to have to stick with me for a shoot which could take 2...

I need help with this short script: The Custodian of Time

Bump Not to be rude, but there was an up-welling of comments that arose around the time I posted the last comment, and I don't think anyone saw it. Or, it's just that bad. :D Thanks to anyone who reads and comments. Take care.
