watch I won best Villian in our 48 hr fest

Yeah, my two experiences with the local 48hr festival were more than enough to cause me to shy away from them. The festival head outright told our producer (after she went and leveraged the competition some publicity through her job) that he'd have our back in the halloween festival. In the...

Another attempt at a directors reel - what do you think?

Do you have a separate dialogue track that you could lay down for the clips you're using? It might help to drop the original musical selections for the individual pieces and keep your reel track playing softly underneath the entire thing, might make it feel a bit less disjointed.

I didn't understand the plot to Rosemary's Baby.

Considering that every phone was a hardline phone in those days, it's not unfeasible to believe that these cultists could have set up their own operator's station into the grid. Just a basic pass-through that would make sure that anyone Rosemary wanted to contact was under the cult's thumb.

    Phenomenal response. +1

How do you write fight scenes like this, believably?

Incorrect. The evidence in that room would be inadmissible, since it was an illegal search. However, the arrest would be from firing on police officers, and then they could work to tie him to the other crimes that they did have legal evidence from, like (if I remember correctly) Gluttony, Greed...

To overexpose, or to not overexpose?

That means very little though, seeing as it's unlikely that your TV has been adjusted to have and optimum color balance.

How can I get this idea to work for my story?

The twist is that the lady's nether-bits are named "justice." They were being thoroughly obstructed. The premise seems incredibly convoluted, to be completely honest. Some criminals force a sex tape at gunpoint, leaving zero evidence of their existence and/or just don't get reported as having...

How do you write fight scenes like this, believably?

that's the cart before the horse. Don't dictate what happens in your story based off of what you think an audience might enjoy; write a good story, tell it well, and your audience is much more likely to appreciate it. Not necessarily true: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=watch?v=hImAmM5-Fpg...

How can I get this idea to work for my story?

Instead of trying to pave over what you recognize to be gigantic plot holes, perhaps consider stepping back to the drawing board on the issue and coming up with something that you're happier with.

How do you write fight scenes like this, believably?

This doesn't sound like action that advances a narrative, this sounds like fluff.

How much could it cost to hire a VFX artist do to this?

So, you are having technical issues because of setting issues because of script issues. Well, people have made suggestions about each, and you keep shooting them down because of something that you had already planned, it's decently likely that you might just need to consider the fact that you...

How much could it cost to hire a VFX artist do to this?

Which is in turn more than it would cost to rent a few HMI kits and a Genny for a night. Which is in turn way more than a small genny, a few DIY lights, some photofloods, and some CTB. Which is still more expensive than rewriting the scene to something within budget.

how would you help a beginner scriptwriter?

I'd wager that around the same age she'd pile up pillows and make an impromptu fort. A pillow fort is essentially a house without experience and training; flimsy and unreliable, but the basic principles are there. Same as with storytelling.

Is it possible for "Day for Night" to not look horrible?

You can get away with exterior day for night, but you either need the right weather (a day shot will always have a sky that's brighter than the action on the ground, so you need to be able to counter-act/avoid/accommodate for that, and pretty much any daylight shadows will look ridiculous) or...
