The Conversation? People talking about something? That seems like something I may want to film some day.
Valid point. However, a sort-of sequel starring Will Smith was made turning it into a more action packed story which may provide proof of concept, or perhaps a more sellable pitch. Think surveillance state, etc., which is and will continue to become only more relevant.
I liked The Irishman well enough with the major exception of how they used computers to artificially make the younger versions of De Niro et al.
Yes, me, too. I mean, I was fine with the CGI, but also disappointed. That's because, while the de-aging looked plausible, it did not look like a young De Niro. It looked like a younger
somebody else who looks
a lot like De Deniro—but who is
not De Niro. We all know too well what young De Niro looked like. Still, I'm glad they didn't let that stop them from making a fine film.
Would love to see a series based on Barry Seal, the American pilot (TWA) who decided to fly drugs for the Medellin Cartel and then turned DEA informant. There was an HBO movie in 1991 (of which I saw)
Nice. I must give that a watch. On that same melody, an episodic adaptation of
The Invisible Pilot could be a good soap opera, family crime drama, as well. It's a good documentary short series I very much recommend, available on Max.
Since my previous post, I have seen the Paul Thomas Anderson film
Inherent Vice. This one is begging for a series. Imagine if you could get Joaquin Phoenix to reprise his role. Maybe he'd like a long term gig? Anyway, it has Magnum PI vibes for a 21st Century audience. Well, not quite, but…
Which makes me think of the classic
The Long Goodbye. Same reasons.
Another edgy entry is
Scotty and the Secret History of Hollywood. As a dramatic series, it could be a
Hollywood Confidential meets
Mad Men meets
My Own Private Idaho, I don't know…
