Threat Level Midnight

The British knew when to stop. The Yanks didn't.

But if they're making money and having fun, then kudos to them.

UK/US face off here.

Ricky Gervais and Steve Carrell ran into each other for a couple of minutes at the beginning of an episode a couple weeks back. Pretty funny.

I saw that yesterday. It was a good scene... They bounced off each other well.

The trouble for me with the American version is that they now have seven seasons, nealy 150 episodes! For me, there's too much un-funny stuff in the American version, I guess because they need to spread their jokes out across so many episodes, they seem to run out of steam.

Here in the UK, we had two seasons and a Christmas special, 13 episodes! Each one was rammed full of jokes, start to finish.

Don't get me wrong though, I do like the American version. When it is funny, it's very funny!

Lol, I just watched the original Threat Level Midnight episode, where Jim and the gang read through Michael's Script while he is discusin bussiness with Dany Glover.

I love the U.S. version for it's differences and it's similarities. You cannot really compare Gareth and Dwight. They represent exactly what is similar and yet incredibly divergent between the UK and US versions of THE OFFICE.

Yes, the UK shows know exactly when to quit.... ON TOP, leaving people wanting more.

Anyone ever see SPACED? Greatest britcom EVER MADE.

Yes!

I don't believe we got many series out of "SPACED", either. Simon Pegg was great.

There are other British comedies i could reccommend, but I'm not sure the humour would correctly translate.

"Bottom" & "The Royal Family". Two of my favourite comedy series. The latter is comedy Royalty, yet i believe you have to be accustomed to British life to appreciate it.
