cinematography The Long Arm of the Lens

For the Wickerman shoot on Monday night I put together a Lowe's special jib arm with a 2x2 and some counterweights. HV20 on the end w/ wide lens. I wanted some high angle swooping shots of the set. If I move slow and steady, the footage actually looks pretty good. And since it's a music video, anything goes.

Needs some shoulder padding but other than that I think it will do the trick. I actually had it rigged with another 2x2 but it proved to be far to wobbly.

Brian Luce @brianluce and Steve Richards @ZenSteve will be operating Brian's GH2 rigs. Should be fun!

Hey Brian... sure you won't let me put the GH2 on the end? Pleeeease? :D

Total cost: under $5.00

Getting some stuff packed right now. Will be fun.

You sure that's Brian's correct Twitter, btw?

Edit: lol, that ain't my correct Twitter either!

Good call with the towels, Murdock. Thanks. I'm hoping to have some set pics to share next week.

I need to get a straight bracket for the end so I can point the camera forward instead of down to have options.
