Have you considered non-SF series? "The Hidden Fortress" by Akiro Kurosawa was the inspiration for Star Wars, and "Forbidden Planet" was an adaptation of Shaekespeare's "The Tempest". Don't forget also that Joe Campbell, the mythologist, has said that there are no new stories, just retelling of older ones.

I'd consider reading many good SF books as well.

Land of the Lost. Bewitched may be considered a fantasy series, and so can Fantasy Island, because Mr Khan-in-a-white-suit on some occasions showed paranormal powers.

I can't think of anymore, but there is a law of diminishing returns.
 
NICE! I loved the Third Eye when I was a kid! Totally need to revisit that. I've never seen Blake's 7, but I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I also enjoyed the Logan's Run tv series, but I haven't seen it since I was in high school. Not as much as the movie, mind you, which is one of my favorites. RENEW!
 
X-Files, Lone Gunmen, Third Planet from the Sun, Mork and Mindy, My Favorite Martian, Life on Mars (UK).

Futurama pretty much has to stay on any scifi list as it is arguably the best written scifi series, and the one with the most coolest elements.

I really liked this show..but i did not know showtime produced it..only saw it on sifi channel....looks like ill have to watch the uncut with boobes an allLOL!
