Remote shutter release (intervalometer)

I've been looking for a remote shutter release (intervalometer) for timelapse videos with my Canon 60D. All I found is either expensive or NOT for 60D. Can someone show/suggest a cheap intervalometer which I could buy online compatible with Canon 60D for something cheap, around $5 that simply DOES the trick. I don't want to spend a lot of money on it...

Opteka makes a cheap one for about $30, but that's still a lot more than the budget of $5 that you have.

Have you considered using Magic Lantern software instead? It's a free user-created set of instructions for your Canon, and the newer versions of it include an intervalometer function. There's a version just for 60D, I think:

That's what I use. Coincidentally, I posted a timelapse I made with Magic Lantern yesterday:

If you feel comfortable using ML, then you don't even need to spend that $5

Why isn't it perfect?

There have been reported problems about its circuitry. It hasnt happened to me. I have one as a backup.

The only problem ive had is that it has a beep function which now and then fails to beep. No biggie as long as it keeps taking my pictures at the interval i want it to.

But this is abt as cheap as you get with some amount of reliability.
