WHAT?
A bunch of filmmaking/artist types come to Vegas, for 3 days, to mingle, watch indie movies, eat, drink and share knowledge.

WHEN?
Memorial Day weekend - May 27th-29th. (7th year)

WHERE?
N/W Las Vegas. (PM me for the address.)

COST?
No charge, but bring $5 for pizza, during Saturday demos. There will be food at all times! :D

Basically - kick back, bring your best short movie and/or do a presentation, preferably 15 minutes or less.



SCHEDULE OF EVENTS: (More specifics as details become available. See Last Year's THREAD for examples.)

FRIDAY, May 27th
6pm - Hors D' Oeuvres, meet and greet.
8:00pm - 2am (approx.) - Short and feature films.


SATURDAY, May 28th
1:30pm to 7:30pm - presentations, demos....and pizza!
8:00pm - 2am - Short and feature films



SUNDAY, May 29th
1:30pm (approx.) - Several of us will go see THE HANGOVER 2
5pm to 9pm - Barbecue/pool party.
10pm to 2am Short films & fire.

Lodging:


Anyone with a sleeping bag is welcome to crash. Otherwise: NEAREST HOTELS:

TEXAS STATION
Fiesta Rancho

All 3 on Rancho Drive. (All within 4 to 5 miles.) Additionally:

Cannery Hotel (7 miles, but a straight shot down Craig Rd, to the house.)

Indeed. I really enjoyed attending last year's event. Not sure it's in the cards for me this round, but I'll probably send a DVD for the screenings.
 
Cracker Funk, I got your PM! Sounds great! Yes, there are kids in some of these pics, mainly because they are my brood (or their friends) and the event is 3 days long. They like to swim or see some of the demos and certain movies. Generally, the features are not kid friendly. Almost all the stuff from last year was edgy:

BIOSLIME (aka CONTAGION)

As with most indie stuff, you never know what you're going to get! I like that spirit of the Meet. It's a mish mash of offerings.

That would be totally cool if you or Jeff could make it out, again! We sincerely enjoyed having you guys. At the very least, we'll get Jeff's movie. :lol:
 
lol I would love to but I think maybe it's because it's 7 days a week from here until basically June.

Maybe next year!!!
 
Memorial Day weekend is one of five I just can't get out
of work on. Damn this entertainment business. People
off work want to be entertained and I chose the wrong field.

I so want to attend.
 
Your knowledge would be very welcomed, Rik! A presentation by you or ROC would be a treat. You almost have to play this by ear; if either of your schedules opens up, we'll be waiting for you.
 
Sure wish I could. I finally got a cut of the swamp monster
movie I made 2 years ago with Lance Hendrickson, Michael
Ironside and Heather Morris. Be a blast to show it there. Even
though I think the editor they hired is blind or smoking dope.
Or both.

I attended last year and had a super good time. Mike is a wonderful ringleader, Sheila provides a banquet of delicious food and both Conways are consummate hosts! :) Will be back for another round. Maybe next year. Have a blast in 2011!

Just let us know. If you can swing the airfare, you won't need money for anything else. If Zensteve doesn't bring the pineapple-upside-down cake, we'll think of something!
