Welcome to indietalk, as a newbie myself, I have already learned a LOT from this site in my short stay. There are very experienced and helpful people here.

I don't plan on getting a premiere account, but I'm sure there some very useful threads that alone would be worth getting a premiere account for.

Welcome, Kevin. I wouldn't worry about the premeire membership at this point. There are people here from your age to your grandfathers age. Part of filmmaking is dealing with all types of folks of different ages and this is no different. Pull up a chair and check it out.

I would hang around here and see how you like it. Read, learn and post your questions. I would also go through all the old threads in section you're interested in. Think about a premiere account later.
