character Funny character name needs a bio

Yesterday I pulled into a gas station and needed a fill. Told the attended what I wanted (In Oregon you cant pump your own gas)

Attendant said "Ok, Pump Five, Fill" Immediately my brain latched onto this new character..

"Pump Five Phil"

Who is he?
Where did he get his name?

"Pump Five Phil" is a one time Aerobics instructor, in his prime taking the school of '98 to the regional championships, where he finished an untimely second place. On the fringe of a divorce, Phil began seeking companionship, solitude, fulfillment. It was, and is, fair to say that "Pump Five" Phil will never again soar as he once did, be the father, or lover that he once was.

But boy, he sure knows his Deisel.

Phillip Matank, Private Detective (He’s solving mysteries at the gas station, narrating to himself noir style.)

PHILIP MATANK
It’s was 11 am on a thursaday,
and that’s when she rolled in.

DUNT DUNT DUNTTTTTT!

PHILIP MATANK
Maybe it was the cherry slushies and bucket of nachos I
had for breakfast, or maybe it was something in the way
she moved, but I knew without asking she was there to get gas.

---

I had a horror character/concept thing called The Pump Jockey.
(Dude gets burned due to some punks doing a fill and bail, then he is like the town freak all disfigured and still just pumping gas until he snaps.)

-Thanks-

LOL! Nice one buddy.

Kinda makes me think of Guy Noire: Private Eye from Prairie Home Companion.

"She walked in wearing a dress that looked as though someone had poured her into it and she forgot to say when."

I was thinkin this woudl be a guy in the artic at some out of the way Oil pumping station. Hes a good guy but a little nutty. Then he spots emenint danger with the puming system. There could be a artic catastrophy. Pump 5 Phil to the rescue. You good even make him a crazy Russian.

I thought maybe it was a mockumentary, or like.. a Robert Altman film, for some weird reason. lol

(I’ve just heard the title before, thought it was a film.)

-Thanks-

Garrison Keillor did make a movie version. I thought it was cleverly done, but I'm not sure if you'd like it if you haven't heard the show.

I do highly recommend it, it's a lot funnier than you think.

@Wheat, sorry for the OT-ness :)
