Confidentiality Question

I recently worked on a TV show in which they were somewhat seeerious about confidentiality and had to sign a confidentiality agreement. I understand that the show would be ruined if the results were to come out before it airs, which makes sense. The question I have though, is am I allowed to simply tell a prospective future employer what show it was I worked on?

I'm trying to get another PA job but they asked for a resume...I want to be able to tell them I worked on the show and what show it was, but just don't want to say something I shouldn't. Simply saying what show it was seems to be fine but I'm wondering what you guys think?

thanks

"they were somewhat seeerious"

Call "them" and ask if you really wanna know. The truth is out there. Just calling, you might pop into their minds and get another gig out of it, you never know.

Now, if by "somewhat serious" you mean it was "just a formality", then I don't imagine they'd be after you if you just dropped the show name on your resume... but if you have any production paperwork with letterhead on it, there should be at least a working title (even if it is "You don't need to know the name of this show yet"), so I'd just put it...

But alternatively- maybe just list the production company and the genre (ei. "Confidential title (Gameshow/Dramatic TV Series), Fubarb Rhubarb Productions). Might entice a little mysterious curiosity, perchance?

No one here knows what you signed and we would not tell you to do anything based on assumption.

I've had similar- and the above posters have nailed it; each contract is different and you have to find out if it is in writing that you cannot mention the show. Maybe if you know a lawyer who can look at it for you(the legalese can really be :hmm: sometimes :))
