So this month I participated in the Film Riot Monday Challenge which was to recreate a 2min scene from a film.

We chose The Bourne Legacy. For those following my other threads, this is the shoot where Magic Lantern didn't work and I had to use the Camera's original firmware.

The major disadvantage about where we were shooting is that the bridge above us was actually a highway so that's why you hear so may cars in our version. But we had driven around for over 2 hours just to find the location and it was the closest we manged to find.

Excellent!

It looks like you did a very good job on recreating the scene shot for shot.

Doing so, what things did you learn about how the 'Bourne Legacy' director, cinematographer, and editor probably go about their scene construction?
Do you NOW have any "This [technique] is great! I need to do this [technique] more often!" that you didn't have before?
Or no? You pretty much woulda done it that way or something similar enough anyway?

fine work all around.

Camera needed just a bit more mass to be a little less "wobbly"
in the original the hand held is very unnoticeable, in your version, the hand held called attention to itself.

It might have been post stabilization in the original..

Well I noticed they took no regard to the 180 rule, which is something I would have done differently. While I can't notice specific things which I've learned I'm sure I have. Last time I did an exercise like this my films following it took a massive leap in quality.

Yes unfortunately :/ light DLSR on tripod + holding for up for many hours = somewhat jittery footage. I don't think they post stabalized it, they just had it on a shoulder rig or something (I predict) which takes away the jitter but still has handhold.

Well good question I'm not sure. Having watched a few others who entered I can tell it isn't followed shot for shot for them, however when approaching this I took the approach of attempting to make it look as similar to the original as possible.
 
You had a tougher situation than they did. They didn't shoot against the light. The shot you did of the girl, you have this blown out white background. Same with the guy. There's just white behind him! I think if you would've picked a background more similar to what you find in Bourne Legacy, it would've been even better :)

Unfortunately we couldn't find one, we did try very hard though.

My understanding of the challenge was that it was supposed to be shot for shot... The announcement is here: http://revision3.com/filmriot/rain-challenge starting at the ~6:35 mark.

Recreate, by studying and emulating.. that says shot for shot to me, though I suppose it was never explicitly stated that way
