archived-videos an experiment

I am attempting to flat out make a viral video, in terms of a pet (my cat) and see if I can get the hundreds of thousands of views and actually minimize my filmmaking skillz, if there be much that I have of those.

I could have gone with just raw footage, but I cannot help but edit this into something and add titles with music.

Shot with a Canon T2i, no lighting and my "actor" was a bit finicky, so it was a hard shoot for about 8 minutes total, and 15 minutes to do the edit and graphics.

This is not indicative of filmmaking, but simply an experiment to see if I can make something that gets a whole lotta views on the youtubes.

There is a lot of thought and technique to making a video go viral, but the #1 element still seems to be luck. Here's my hypothesis.... once a cat forum or someone with a large network of e.Friends of cats sees this, the snow ball will get bigger.

The search engines still haven't picked it up. The metatags on YouTube itself aren't linking this as a "related video" to anything yet.

Liza Trainer is doing stuff like this and she comments on other semi-related popular vids with links to hers to drive traffic to them... it's working for her pretty well, so cross-linking is another tactic to pursue.

1,414 and counting. There is a lull in the increase in views, that coincides with my lack of promotion, but still slowly and steadily rising.

I will have to try cross linking at some point.
