I guess there's only one way to find out. If you think you've done the research, and if you're willing to take the risks, then I guess you're going to do it. I love a good fan film, and some of them are quite celebrated by their fandoms, and I hope everything works out for you.
You should check this film out. It's really good, and they made it on a pretty tight budget:

Good advice, rayw. I've never gone that far with outlining myself, but that's still a good formula to follow. I could stand to add a couple of those things to my own writing process in general. Not just with screenplays.
I also find that it sometimes helps to take a break, and watch a favorite...
That's what I was wondering, too.
If I was that eager to finish the thing, and there was no other way, I'd probably bite the bullet, scrounge up a few bucks and offer it as an incentive.
^Agreed, but I also agree that it still sucks. I'll never be a fanatic for the franchise, so this is never really going to bother me, but in the end it is indeed his right to say and do whatever he wants in regards to his property.

I like this a lot. I think that's some of the best advice to be found in this thread. I also think reading through old articles on this thread could be of great help. This is a fantastic resource. A lot of the people here have been working at their craft for a long time, and they've been...
I do like the notion of some things being left to my imagination, of being left open to my ability to read into them and use my own instincts to lead them into whatever direction my mind is capable of putting together.
You're right to say it's a tricky thing to do. Reveal too much, and you...
