This is one hell of a bad idea!!! That being said. This will be more fun to watch then anything that has come out of the major studios in the last ten years. Terry

    Time for a new tripod?

Have a look at the Sachtler FBS series. I know, they are expensive but a good tripod will last 20 or more years. And you will never regret getting a Sachtler. Terry

Graeme, This not to have a police officer on set. It's so that when someone calls the police about people running around with guns the police will not show up with their guns drawn. It happens far to often. Terry

    Gretscaling a Colour in Post

The best way to handel this is to call all the law enforcement agencies in the area you will be shooting....make the filming and let them know what you will be doing. The sooner you call the better, and get the name and nuber of a contact person. Then call them all back a week before filming and...

    Best PC For Editing

I you are like me, you will be spending a great deal of time in the edit bay. Build you own computer from scratch. Use a 10k RPM drive for you system dirve. And at a minimum four other dirves and keep everything backed up! And this is the most important, NEVER connect you editing computer to...

Iphone as sound recorder - anybody done this?

"Can this be filtered out without significant degradation?" No. I would not use the iPhone to record audio for any film project. You can not get around the bad preamps in the iPhone or the iPod touch. Terry

Iphone as sound recorder - anybody done this?

I tested the iPod touch and the preamps are BAD, lots of noise. I imagine the iPhone uses the same preamps. It a shame, the iPod is a great tool to have on the set. Terry

    lens

Without knowing the type of shot, closeup, med, or wide we can not answer your question. For a shot that would be from the head to the knee would use a 24mm lens at f/2 and the camera be setup 19 feet 8 inches from the subject. A closeup would call for an 85mm lens at 19 feet 8 inches. But to...

    Copywrite question!

You should have no problem using Channel 8 News as you can not get a copyright on it. Think of all the channel 8s suing each other. ;') Terry

There is no excuse for seeing light fixtures, mics/boompoles, shadows, ect in any frame. They don't belong there and shouldn't be there! If you have reshoot the scene! Terry

    It happened again...

Brooksy, That falls on the head of the DP and/or camera op. Not much you can do about it. I would not work with them again. Why let them trash your name. I would also ask that they take my name out of the credits. Terry
