    Red One vs. 35mm

Lighter. Easier to transfer it for editing. You can shoot faster and more. But [if you know what you're doing with 35mm] it won't look as good as film.

    A question about Directing....

Why's it so hard??? The hard part is knowing the right thing to say. Lots of people can organize and tell people where to put stuff. But he has to know the right place to put the thing and HOW that person should do that other thing while someone else is doing something else entirely. Get it?

    No Idea What It's About

So I;ve been trying to write something that i can shoot on a pretty low budget. I know the feel of the film, the pace, the style, but no idea about the plot. Know what I mean? I know what its about but not. I'm trying to figure out what the plot could be but im coming up with nothing. Should i...

watch 'A FRIENDLY VISIT' - Short UK film! Kinda crazy..

That was surprisingly good. I thought you did a pretty good job on the framing for one day's work. So much framing is crappy on the forum (no offence to others, lol). And it was quite funny too. I liked the "yeah thats the same thing" parts. I was dissapointed when i went on your channel and...

    How do I end this?

@sina Make this feature-length. Watch a hell of alot of GOOD comedies for homework. If you shoot this well. Even mediocrely (try do better than mediocre, but...) you could even sell it. It sounds like something the teen to immature adults demographic would like. Just learn a bit about...

    Concentrating On One Screenplay.

I have a somewhat vague idea of something i want to write. I'm basically trying to write something to direct (first film), that i can shoot on a pretty low budget, since i doubt anyone would fund me much. The thing is, i've developed other ideas more than this idea, and even starting writing...

    Too Pretentious To Direct

lol, ok thanks. I dunno how much that would work, but ok.

    Too Pretentious To Direct

Yeah i see what you mean about the editor. But its not really about that. Its more about the whole feel of the scene (and i know that can be changed by the editor, but he can only do so much), im just wondering about how to shoot during production, not about how i can bend it in post. I guess...

    Too Pretentious To Direct

I know this is a crappy thing to say about oneself, but I'm saying it because i'm trying to improve. I feel i would be too pretentious as a director. I don't know if everyone can tell, but the director being pretentious OR earnest can be felt when watching a film, and it's hard to totally let...

Artistic Non-Art films that are not on your usual great films lists...

Thnaks I've seen The Conversation, Barry Lyndon, and 2001. Any more?

Artistic Non-Art films that are not on your usual great films lists...

Okay, this is sort of a tricky question. I'm looking for films that are not art films, but are still "artistic". Now, obviously, the films that are generally regarded as the greatest films of all time ARE art, but I'm looking for something else. I think an example or two will help explain what...

Sundance - Not reaaaaally for independent films

Thanks. So if i had no famous stars and i didn't know anybody on the selecting committee would it help if i started buzz from before?

Sundance - Not reaaaaally for independent films

Sundance is known as the place where independent films are shown and the producers try to get distribution... But I looked at the line-up of films that were at sundance this year and, even though they did'nt have a very big budget, and have no distribution, i wouldn't go ahead and call them...
