Prison Cell Location

Hope this is the right place :)

I'm looking for a cell to shoot my short film and don't know where to start (I live in Los Angeles). Would greatly appreciate any help :)

Cheers,

HIGH probablility you'll have to fake it.
Open jail not goning to let you anywhere near it.
Closed jail won't have power and will probably be expensive to rent.
Don't get me wrong, look for one, but already have plan B in the works.

Our "jail" was a 6 story parking garage.

Build one. If you have access to one cinder block wall, build two more, extending perpindicular

to it. I wouldn't use mortar. Just dry stack. Then make a light weight door out of 1 inch

dowels and 1x4's. Just a thought.

You're in Los Angeles. There are at least five standing prison
cell sets and five dozen places where you can build a set. You
don't mention if you are willing to pay.

As others have mentioned, building one is easy. Some painted
PVC pipes and paint on the walls and, bingo, you have a jail.

Thanks Directorik. I have zero budget for this short.

Lots of great ideas here. Los Angeles is your oyster!

Curious what sort of prison the scene requires? U.S.A.? Hungarian? Period? Do you need a window? Is this an isolation tank?

Sadly, I don't think you'll get far with $0.00 :(
