I voted for sci fi. I love the genre, except that most sci fi's fall short of the credibility threshold. I think it's a lack of imagination. Personally, I despise most of what comes out of Hollywood. This film "factory" only proves that you don't need vision or imagination to produce a film. I was a projectionist for four years, and it always amazed me that Hollywood studios would spend multi millions on a film, and then distribute their prints to theaters which pay their film "handlers" just a bit above minimum wage. This is probably different in the bigger cities, but in central Texas, this seemed to be the norm. it's rediculous! I've mostly stopped going to movies for these reasons. I'm very selective.
On the sci fi note, there's so much research coming out of science right now that could be used as the subtext to some great sci fi stories. I think the Matrix is a good example of this.
