The 2000s are very definable. It just all seems to blur into the 2000s as a century (till now) was my original point. But it's probably just perspective and in a few years we'll see the lines. Even through in the previous decade, you seemed to know the "differences" immediately.
 
OK, I'll say FB was the fad for the 2010's, even as it is losing members. But, given the counter revolution since the Great Financial Crisis, was it that noticeable? Maybe.
 
OK, the Blackberry preceded that, and that led to the Crackberry phenomenon in the 2000's. Is that a fad that qualifies? If so, then, yes, the Apple iPhone would also qualify, so we have that. But these are technological fads, along with the Youtube phenomenon, so, as always, it comes down to definition.
