Which of these DSLR rig would you prefer?

Hey guys,
I have a tiny amount of cash that I'd like to use to buy me a DSLR rig for GH2.
Thing is, I don't want anything fancy but rather functionable. I found 2 of Cowboy DSLR rig to be under the umbrella of what I want. But now I'm confused.
Cheaper one has the ability for hands free camera operation but the other one has sturdier build I think.
I'm into narrative filmmaking.
Kindly tell me which one would you prefer?

Thanks.

But since I'm basically the poor man version of poor man's version.. I cant afford the focus puller.. With the hands free one I can atleast pull focus myself.. Any idea how would one go about it with latter one?

When you ask which one I prefer but don't mention your
limitations it makes my answer irrelevant. I would prefer
the second one, the well made sturdy one. Since you can't
afford that and cannot get a second person on your shoots
to pull focus then what I prefer doesn't matter.

It seems with your limitations the poor mans version that
leaves your hands free to pull focus is you only option
despite what other people may prefer. Get it and learn to
use it. Sometimes learning to work within your financial and
crew limitations can lead to great innovation.

I said I cant afford a focus puller not that I cant afford the rig..
Both the rigs are in my budget but hiring people to do specialized jobs are not.. esp in India where "volunteering" to do film work doesn't exist..
If I was not bound by financial limitations I wouldnt be talking about cowboy rigs..

I apologize. Let me restate:

Since you can afford either rig but cannot find a second person to
pull focus then within your limitations the poor mans version that
leaves your hands free to pull focus is your only option. Since you
are bound by financial limitations then the poor mans version that
leaves your hands free to pull focus may be your best option because
finding volunteers in India cannot be done. What I (or we) prefer
isn’t much of an option to you so you should choose the one YOU
can use and not the one someone else prefer.

I apologize for not fully understanding your first question. I, personally,
would prefer the sturdier, better built one, but in your case you should
get the cheaper one.

Thanks alot. I guess I was kinda looking for reassurance more than anything else. I have used a pvc pipe diy rig with my camcorder for so long, I just wanted something that works a little better maybe and hopefully also looks a bit more professional. :)

Even though you want something that works better and
look more professional you cannot use the better, more
professional looking rig due to your crew limitations. Since
you are not asking what other would prefer but you want
reassurance then I'll just say again what I already said;
Get the cheaper one and learn to use it well. Sometimes
learning to work within your financial and crew limitations
can lead to great innovation. In the future, when you can
afford a person to help you (or find one willing to work for
free) you can then buy the better, more professional looking
rig.

Thanks man.. That makes sense. I'm anyways new to the world of DSLR's or rather DSLM and learning the technical challenges along with the craft of filmamking should be my priority. I agree that limitations forces you to think of overcoming it with new ways and that is the most enjoyable part of all this for me,
