What suggestions do you have for writing a script with no actors

I want to do an artsy piece with low quality camera and audio but I need suggestions of how to make it work with no characters. I have ideas that I can create and adapt but I need to know if anyone has any suggestions as to what the focus should be (picture and audio quality or depth of the story)... I would do both but honestly, I don't have much time to flush out a full story and ensure that I have the equipment that I will need on time. Thanks in advance

I'm trying to find a link to a medium I think you should work in, but I can't remember the name of the camera that does it.

Anyway, if you want a real neat artsy fartsy look, try recording video to an audio cassette.

No offence but this is one of the things that irritates me most about filmmaking.

Using B&W, using Super 8, using a rubbish mic...etc, these do not make your film 'artsy'. Your film is 'artsy' if the content is 'artsy'. A lot of people seem to think that as soon as you shoot something in black and white or really grainy old school footage it instantly becomes art.

If you are going to deliberately shoot on low quality equipment you should be able to artistically justify it through the content. Can you?

Thanks for the replies so far. I am leaning towards making the film focus on household objects... I am thinking of ways to flush this out but I will try to come up with something and I will reply back with my results soon enough

I read this amazing story once, can't remember the name,

Maybe the dwindling sphere by Jack Williamson, not sure

The story was about sentient star systems and told a 2 billion year long story of a new galaxy being born into a family of star systems. The stars and galaxies talked to each other and you saw the motivations that caused the movements in the sky.

Maybe it was "into the void" Can't remember.

That's really cool sounding and would make an amazing film if done correctly. Honestly. I don't think I believe in myself enough to know where to start on an idea like that
