What festivals are best for my film?

People can give you a list of the usual festivals - but you
already know them.
You can research festivals.

In order to get a usable answer you need to focus your
question - otherwise any answer is a stab in the dark. When
you ask "best for getting my film noticed." what do you
mean? You know about the top ten festivals that attract
distributors - do you mean festivals with the highest attendance?
Who do you want to notice the film? Are you asking only
for personal recommendations - festivals we entered and
got the film noticed?

It's an excellent trailer - did you actually get an MPAA rating?

Trying to decide on the right film festival can be very daunting and can quickly become very expensive. My advice is look at festival websites and see what type of festival it is and if your film would be a good fit.

Check out withoutabox.com and see what festivals have deadlines coming up and are in your price range. Then check out their websites to see if its even worth your money.

Best of luck!

No, I just stuck that on there to make it look more professional. Thanks for the compliment. I just want to make some dough on the movie, I worked on it for two years or more, I want to get it out there, noticed, seen, making money.

I'm just really overwhelmed by all of the festivals and wondering, (it wasn't selected by sundance, hollywood ff, etc.. i'm wondering if the smaller festivals are even worth it, the goal is to get it sold. Thank you guys for your advice. bb

In my opinion placing the MPAA rating on a trailer when you
have not gotten a rating make you look far from professional.
You are essentially lying to your audience.

No. Smaller festivals will not attract buyers. However, becoming
an "Official Selection" in several festivals and maybe picking up
an award or two can help when you pitch it to buyers.
