In creating the opening credits for my short (an homage to the classic comedians, silent and talking), I wanted to add an effect that makes the sequence seem old and worn--squiggly lines and the like. Think back to the old 16mm films you'd watch in science class where the print had been viewed for so many years and so many times that it seemed to be skipping and filled with scratches. I've seen this effect done (most recently on a Preston Sturges documentary on the MIRACLE AT MORGAN'S CREEK DVD), but was wondering if anybody knew how to achieve it. Can it be done using Final Cut or is there another brand of software I need?
