T2i Problems

Hey gang,

I just purchased a Canon T2i two days ago. The problem that I am having is when I try and shoot video it only last 3-6 seconds and then shuts off. I get a message on the screen that says; "Movie Recording Has Been Stopped Automatically".

Has anyone else had this problem? Am I doing something wrong?

What kind of storage card are you using?

Have you properly formatted your card and have enough space on it? And while you're checking the card, post the brand and tech specs as well.

I'm using a card that I already had for my digital voice recorder. A PNY 16GB Class 4.

Your problem is the data transfer rate on the card. It's 4Mbps. The buffer fills too fast and it cant write anymore.

You need a faster card. Try a Sandisk card with 30Mbps speed.

Depends on how much you're filming dunnit?

I like having one big card vs two smaller ones. Unless you have a data tech to empty the first card while you use the second on long shoots, the big one is easier.

Thank you fellas. I think I will start with a 16Gb card and add a few as I get the funds.
