For those interested, I shot this with a Canon c100. Lenses used were the Canon 24mm IS prime, the Canon 50mm 1.4, the 100mm Macro IS 2.8 and the Tokina 11-16mm. By far, most of it was shot on the 24 and the 100. The final shot was done with my trusty 5DII as it was a pickup. There was no crew on this shoot. Just myself and Bianca. The shoot took 3 days and post production took significantly longer. All the visuals were done in after effects. I used Element3D a good amount. Thank you to everyone who helped me out during all the time spent editing. You know who you are.

I wanted to create something that showcased what I could really do all on my own. So I wrote a script that took advantage of multiple environments and could function on a skeleton crew (me alone). The story is something I have a feature film treatment written for and would love to get made. The idea of someone that can travel the universe but is stuck doing it on her own is something I wanted to play with. There's a lot more to the story that I hope gets told soon! I spent a total of four days shooting, but the process of editing, color and vfx took about 6 months. During that time it was almost an experiment to get the perfect look. I redid shots multiple times and painted many backdrops that didn't get used, but the result is something I'm happy that people can appreciate. I was hoping to provide a sense of mystery and I think I did that.
It's how Neill Blomkamp (District 9) broke in. The very young director (Gareth Edwards) of Monsters was also a CGI whizz.Does it seem like this sort of situation typically happens mostly in the SCI FI genre? People in spaceships, fancy FX, slick futuristic graphics, outer space worlds, robots...
