It's rare but sometimes i try to get an exposure reading with the lens cap on...
Using a tripod as a budget stabiliser is not a good idea, legs down to counter balance the DSLR. Wanted to go lower so i shortened one of the legs, five minutes later put the tripod down to adjust lights (damn these no budget productions) tripod lost balance and camera went BANG against the concrete floor.
Bloody lucky, only cracked a polariser, lens and cam were fine. Scary though!
