stretched hall

I am in the planning stages of a trailer to shoot. There is a shot like that in the Shining where you see the target at the end of the hall and the hall stretches out and then closes back in. Was this done using after effects or similar program, or a trick of the camera? Any clue?

I don't know how they did that particular shot (haven't seen it in a while), but you can do the elongated hallway effect by zooming out and dollying in.

Ah yes, the ole dolly with counter zoom. Remember, you can get to opposite effect by doing the.....opposite. :) I thought this might be how they did it but wasn't sure. :)

Sometimes called a trombone shot or contra-zoom,
That combination of dolly/zoom changes the perspective
of the background - especially in relation to a subject in
the foreground.
