camera-dept Sony neX VG 20 vs sony a5100 as a first camera

So, i'm going to buy my first camera.
My main goal is to start filming some movies.

My budget is 300$ max and i can take one of these cameras. Which one is better?
What can you suggest? In general, handycam or mirrorless/dlsr camera?
Thanks in advance!

If you can get the NEX VG20 for your budget, get it. It's a great camera.
Might be a lot for a first camera but it has all the essentials.

Far more important than handycam or mirrorless/DSLR is a microphone
input. If a camera doesn't have that you will need and audio recorder,
which adds to the budget. So that takes out the a5100. The a6000 has
a mic input.

Either the a5100 or the a6000 is a good first camera to start filming some
movies. As you get better and decide to grow you can add a good
microphone and/or audio recorder. Both will make your finished movies
better.

Hm, i need to think about a6000. It's quite expensive.
However, i found sony hrc-mx 1500 for 350$.
I now thinking about this monster

I'm thinking about g7. The price is concern. Used g7 with some kit lens costs around 450-500$.
Actually, i can take a6000 body for about 400-450$...
I'm looking at Ukrainian analogue of ebay/amazon so i can save money on delivery.
What do you think is better - a6000 or g7?

Both the a6000 and the G7 would be fine for a first camera. One
isn't better than the other.

I'm considering that this is a first camera and that you will upgrade
in the future. I suggest you get the one you can afford now, get a
shotgun microphone and think about lenses later. Make two or three
short movies to get a feel of the camera and audio, using light well
and telling a story.

If making movies is something you want to keep doing, then start
looking into a "better" camera and a bigger lens kit. Who knows, once
you start making movies you might find someone who is more interested
in photography and has a great camera set up to work with you.

Don't get so bogged down in the "better" camera right now. Get what
you can afford and make some movies.

Heh, that's good advice. Thanks for it.
I really remember the main goal. I will make a purchase only at the end of the month. So I just spend about 2 hours a week looking at offers.
I've been through this period when you're over-excited about planning something and not actually doing it.
It's just a small budget i want to choose best value for it.
