Script Ideas

I am always coming up with new ideas for scripts

One of my favorites involves an epic war [Corn vs. Humans] In which the corn wins but spreads across a trilogy and features several amazing characters and some epic fight scenes along with great comedy. It would have to be some serious CGI

another is a comedy about a man who left japan to become an american amish man but then inherriates Sony from his father and now must travel to japan [He travels the amish way] to deny the request which causes a family uproar

my most recent is sorta a horror film about a psychotic woman who gave birth to twins out of wed lock she is so ashamed that she wishes to only have one thinking that she will be ridiculed less. So as she trys to murder the youngest she realizes she doesnt have the heart so she divises a plan to keep only one at a time while one is in a deep sleep [she drugs him up] the other is in school and living and she switches off on which she lets out of the closet [neither knows the other exsist until the climax.

Anyway what do you think could these have potential?
what are your honest thoughts?

I like all 3, each in their own way.

The 3rd is intriguing. Could you maybe make it somekind of 1690's (witch trial era) set-up where the new to the scene widowed woman must hide a twin lest she be accused of having relations with the devil?

-Thanks-

I agree.

They have promise. It all comes down to the execution, though... I've seen some amazing movies from scripts where the concept and log line would have made you doubt that anyone could make a decent movie out of it, and crappy scripts of some top-notch ideas.

What feature scripts have you written so far?

Why not just send a letter? Or does a large part of the action take place after he gets back to Japan? Like a 'Death at a Funeral' vibe/story?

If the man just sent a letter, there is no story. Traveling
from Pennsylvania to Japan in "the Amish way" is the story.

Are you one those who suggests the woman in the house
in the woods NOT take off her clothes and go out there
searching for her boyfriend? The boyfriend she just heard
scream while being ripped apart by the unseen creature?

Well yes, it's like my dad always says when someone asks a 'how' or 'why' question about a film or tv show: "It's in the script."

I was just asking since it seemed like not enough motivation to kick-start the story. I would like it better if I understood the reason why he couldn't just send a letter. But, you are right, there wouldn't be a point in writing it if he just sent a letter.

Kind of, yeah :P But that's because I'm a scaredy cat and would rather just have everyone survive and go home early. lol

I have written the triology of Corn wars but lost most of the pages and must restart, the second i have a short story version about 5 pages in lenght i used it for a project in my high school english class and yes the entire story is him getting to japan and the family issues that arise from him dening his late father's wishes
i just had the idea of the woman and her twins. I really like your idea of it being in the witch trial era i beleive that it would add something to the story that would set it apart from other movies.

Yeah, I love number 3. I would totally see that movie.. the other two are a bit to campy for me..

Well, you could spin "Corn Wars" as an "eco thriller"

In a post "Green Awakening" world (no petroleum power) ADM splices yellow corn genes with laboratory rats with enhanced intelligence. The rat genes only expresses in the corns undetected ability to communicate. As the story progresses corn holds the worlds bees hostage, eventually revealing the hive mind intelligence that demands equality. Humanity must fight with scythe and sickle as the Combine Harvesters rust in the filed from lack of ethanol fuel!

I like that idea it could add some to the plot line. I suppose that i should explain the other two movies in that triology
in the last feww minutes of the first movie the moon is hit by a large bomb and several large chunks fall to the earth the second movie is based around a german waffle who has been living on the moon for many years after a space accident where he was thrown from a rocket. he falls the the earth in the explosion and now seeks his revenge on the corn (He reads about the event in a news paper) he fights the corn and wins the third is a second war against the humans after the waffle formed a large hippie type army

Not to be the downer person here but I'll question the material you are trying to push.

First story - I guess I don't have enough information to really know if I would like it or not. How would this movie be filmed? Would it be a B flick? What kind of budget are you looking at? But the most important question I would have is why would I care to watch a war film about corn and humans? Nothing in your quick description has grabbed me and made me think, "wow, I need to see how this gets resolved in the end." To me it seems The Happening has already pushed this concept as far as it could, and further then corn vs. humans (for the time being anyway). I guess I should say that this idea is too vague for me to chime in on.

Second story - Again, why do I care about this concept? Man leaves home land on his own terms to live as an Amish. Man is contacted and has to travel back to Japan, with out the help of technology, and does this on his own terms. Where is the conflict? What is grabbing and telling me that I have to watch this film? Because his family in Japan is angry with him because he takes a long time to get there? I guess again you have not given me enough information to convince me that this could be something I will want to see. Also, it will be hard to beat out Kingpin when it comes to Amish jokes.

Third story - This one seems to be a bit more developed of an idea but again, why do I want to see this film? From reading what you had posted I can't tell what the dilemma is. You started off with a Sophie Choice type situation where the mother has to kill one of the children but then quickly tell us that that isn't the story. Then it turns into a Simpson Tree House of Horror where the two twins are alive but one is locked up (the evil twin Bart episode). Also, the reasoning behind her to get rid of one of the children is kind of weak, I mean, she doesn't have to do anything and life would continue normally.

I guess for all three I would need additional information on why I would care about these stories. The information thus far is kind of vague and none of them really grab me. Sure, they have an interesting twist which is really good and keep up the creativeness, but I don't see that you have taken these creative ideas to the next level.
