O'Toole. (sorry had to do it )

Such a great actor. Loved him in so many films but of course his performance in 'Lawrence of Arabia' is one of the absolute greats in cinematic history - as grand and powerful as the film itself.

Nominated for 8 Academy Awards without a win. (His performance in 'Lawrence' lost out to Gregory Peck in 'To Kill A Mockingbird', two of the great performances ever in the same year.)

I think I'll watch 'Lawrence of Arabia' tonight in his honour.

l'awerence is one of my favorite films, but I wasn't fond of his acting. i thought it was actually kind of dated and funky
