R.I.P. Bubba Smith

He could really play football, and provided a few laughs as an actor. We'll miss you, man.

Bubba and I belonged to the same gym in Santa Monica. I never had the guts to talk to him, but he seemed like a regular Joe. And the guy was just massive, not some pumped up juicer, but natural size, the LAT picture actually gives a sense of it, check the size of his head and hands compared to the autograph seeker. In his prime, Bubba Smith could tear the ass out of a Grizzly Bear.
