Note to self:

I can't help myself, I find Resident Evil to be a guilty pleasure. And I'm even a gamer. Don't hate on me. I know...I need help.

I've enjoyed the RE films (particularly the third). You just need to not expect anything like the games, or anything like a horror film. They're middle of the road action films, with horror colors. And at the end of the day, I care more about monsters than cops/soldiers, so I'd much rather watch them than most other action films.

I did hate the first when it came out, because I was expecting something closer to the games in terms of tone. Doubly so after I read Romero's script. It changed a lot from the games, but still had more to do with them than any of the movies that have followed, and really captured the feel of the games.

It's happened to everyone at some point or another. For me it was back in 2005 or 2006 when I was terribly confused for a brief moment.

"Did the Magnolia director just make AVP???"

Have not made the mistake since.
